As our team gets a running start to the new year, we think reflecting on how far Cypress.io has come in 2018 serves as the perfect conduit to determining our goals for 2019. We reached some truly unprecedented achievements, and we could not have done it without our outstanding Cypress community. Below are some of the highlights of 2018, as well as what we plan to accomplish in the year ahead.

2018: A Year of Growth

This past June brought the acquisition of our CEO, Drew Lanham, as well as $4 million co-led by Las Olas Venture Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners. As a result, we were able to more than double our team—adding more software developers, a web developer, a lead product designer and a marketing coordinator (plus more exciting additions to come in 2019!)

When it came to new features, we made sure to listen closely to our users. We introduced parallelization to help tests run faster than ever. Not to mention, we officially came out of beta, bringing our Dashboard Service into General Availability, allowing our users to see detailed insights into the performance of individual tests and specs.

While we were busy working on updates, speaking at 40 events across the globe, and growing from 3030 to 9300 stars on Github, we also saw the release of some cool new Cypress integrations—namely visual testing tools via Percy.io and Applitools. We also partnered with CircleCI and introduced the Cypress Orb, making CI configuration easier than ever before.

Roadmap for 2019

Though we accomplished a ton in 2018, we’re just getting started. We love hearing suggestions from our users, many of which have greatly influenced our roadmap. At the top of our list is (you guessed it) - cross-browser support, particularly for IE11. You can follow our progress on this here.

In the meantime, we’re also working on Github integration, SSO, alternative identity providers, native events, and more. We also plan on rolling out a slew of new Dashboard Service features, so stay tuned!

Thanks again to each and every one of our users, supporters and team members for a wonderful year, and may all your tests run seamlessly in 2019! 🎉
